Pu'Erh Tea

The recipe behind this ancient fermented tea is a closely guarded secret. It has been produced for centuries in the small trading town of Pu-er in Yunnan China. We now know that the black tea from this region is aged, often in dark caves, where it develops a rich, earthy flavor.

Xiao Tou Cha (which translates to "small bowl tea") is compressed pu'erh tea formed into an acorn-sized bowl shape. This Pu'erh tea, aged 4 years, possesses a rich earthy flavor, reminiscent of a stroll in a old growth forest. Each small nugget is meant for one large teacup, and there are about 80 nuggets in one pound.

$52.00 per pound
